Motorola has launched three new additions to its flagship Razr line-up: the Droid Razr HD, Droid Razr Maxx HD and the Droid Razr M.

The Droid Razr HD will become the flagship device, boasting a 1.5GHz dual core processor and a 4.7-inch super AMOLED HD display.

According to Motorola the display has 78 per cent more pixels than last year's Razr and 85 per cent more colour saturation than the iPhone 4S. It's a tough handset as well - the screen is made from Corning Gorilla Glass while the back retains the distinctive Kevlar coating from previous Razr models.

Although the handset will initially arrive with the Ice Cream Sandwich OS, Motorola has confirmed the Jelly Bean update will be available before then end of the year.

More Google goodness was in evidence on the Droid Razr HD through the choice of Chrome as the default pre-installed browser.

Measuring a slim 8.4mm thin the Droid Razr still packs in a 2500mAh battery with Motorola claiming a 16 hour talk time.
Taking it to the Maxx

A 16 hour talk time is child's play though, when compared to Motorola's next offering, the Droid Razr Maxx HD.

The larger battery packed into the Droid Razr Maxx HD will let you enjoy 27 hours of music or 10 hours of video streamed over 4G LTE or 21 hours of talk time.

You'll also get up 32GB of storage space with the Droid Razr Maxx and, like the Droid Razr HD, should be with us by Christmas.

The last device in the line-up, the Droid Razr M is a smaller phone with a 4.3-inch screen and the same Gorilla Glass/Kevlar combo of the other handsets.

Likely to launch at a slightly lower price point, the Droid Razr M features a 2,000mAh battery and 8GB of internal storage.

Don't discount this handset though, it still packs in the same 1.5GHz dual core processers as the other two handsets and also features an 8MP camera capable of shooting 1080p video and NFC compatability.

It's been a busy time for smartphones thanks to announcements from Nokia, Sony and, in all liklihood, Apple. So Motorola will its work cut out to bring in the new customers - something it could manage if it turns out these are the droids you're looking for.
