Dubai's GITEX Shopper, the region’s largest consumer showcase of electronic gadgets, is plugging into a new home as it prepares for its biggest event yet.
Organisers yesterday confirmed that this year’s tech extravaganza will be held at the Dubai World Trade Centre, moving from its traditional home at the Airport Expo. T
This year’s Shopper will take place earlier than usual, from September 29 to October 6.
Its new home will allow an extra 25 per cent of exhibiting space for firms including Dell, Samsung and Nintendo to show-off an estimated 25,000 gadgets, and the event will also have longer opening hours this year.
Ashish Panjabi, chief operating officer of retailer Jacky’s Middle East called the show “undoubtedly the best platform to showcase the latest gadgets to shoppers in the UAE”.
He added: “With the show being held at the Dubai World Trade Centre which is a more accessible venue, we not only expect to see an increase in the number of customers but also new visitors to the show.”
